so i asked him what it was he thought women wanted.

"bad boys with lips that taste like danger."

and there it was. much more succinct than i could have ever put it. nail. on. head. he got it.

he always had these little tidbits of things and i never really knew what to make of them. sometimes they were his own but often he'd quote people and slide them into his conversation. he told me that he'd long ago given up revealing sources because he thought that women--most of his friends are women--always thought he was being pretentious because the people that he quoted were usually not so famous. so he just stopped and when he was called on something he'd said, he would offer up an explanation.
